Religious Education of Children
Confraternity of Catholic Doctrine (CCD)
The young disciples in our CCD program learn how to know, love, and serve God through our Catholic faith, traditions, and values. Sharing our faith more deeply includes praying together, attending and appreciating the Mass, and learning how to discover God each day in our daily lives.
We provide a Catholic, religious education program for students attending public school in 1st through 8th grade, whose families are registered parishioners of St. Rocco’s Parish. Our weekly Catholic classroom experience includes sacramental preparation and a thorough explanation of the Catholic Doctrine in each grade level. We offer a small classroom setting with dedicated Catechists, bible study, and learning faith through textbook lessons, and we include plenty of “out of the textbook” experiences to help educate the young disciples in the tenant of the faith and help them to love and grow closer to Jesus each day. Our program also provides support for families who are homeschooling their children.
Did You Know?
It is the Church’s teaching and our strong belief that parents are the primary teachers of their children in matters of the Catholic faith. “The Christian home is the first place where children receive the first proclamation of the faith. They form a community of grace and prayer, a school of human virtues and Christian charity”. (CCC 1666).
Therefore, the role of the parish CCD program is to assist and support parents’ efforts in teaching their children. However, a parent’s involvement and love for the Catholic beliefs in Christ’s teachings and our traditions cannot be replaced by a Catechetical team. We are a strong support system, not a replacement.
Class Calendar
Classes are held Mondays at 6:00pm – 7:15pm – September through April.
How Do I Sign Up For St. Rocco's C.C.D. Program?
The C.C.D. program is open to all families who are active, registered parishioners of St. Rocco’s Catholic Church. If you are a new parishioner – Welcome! Parents of all new students must submit a copy of their child’s baptismal certificate at the time of registration (if the child was not baptized at St. Rocco’s Parish) and must be active, registered members of St. Rocco’s. If you are not a registered member of St. Rocco’s and would like your child to attend our C.C.D. program, please contact us to discuss.
Registration forms may be picked up from the Parish Office or may be obtained by emailing StRoccoCCD@yahoo.com. The registration form, along with the registration fee, may be returned in person or by mail to the Parish Office or may be dropped in the collection basket at Mass. Once your completed registration form and fee are received, we will complete your child’s enrollment.
We look forward to meeting and serving you and your family along our faith journey.

Religious Education of Children
Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)
The Children’s Liturgy of the Word is held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month (October – March), at the 10:30 am Mass for all children in grades K-5th! No signup or prior registration is needed.
Children in grades 6, 7, 8, & High School can be “teen helpers” or a “CLOW Aide” – please join us!
What Is CLOW?
Our Children’s Liturgy of the Word invites children, during Mass, to their own “Liturgy of the Word”. The children dismiss from Mass with a “CLOW Leader” before the First Reading. They will have an opportunity to hear the same Scripture readings and Gospel that are heard in the larger community but, can experience God’s Word in an age-appropriate way through discussions in which they can understand and be involved in. Then, all children will return to their family’s pew during the Offertory Procession and are joined by their family and community to fully participate in the “Liturgy of the Eucharist”.
If you would like to sign up to be a Liturgy Leader or a CLOW Aide, please contact us below – all materials will be provided. Your help is greatly appreciated!
